The Meaning of Diamonds
Diamond is one of the birthstones of April and signifies purity and innocence. Dating back to the Victorian era, over 180 years ago, the diamond has been used as an engagement ring and has the meaning of eternal bonds and pure love and is still the standard gemstone for engagement and wedding rings.
The 50th anniversary of a couple’s marriage is known as the Golden Anniversary, but the 60th anniversary is also known as the Diamond Anniversary. While the Golden Anniversary is celebrated by giving each other items made of gold or gold, the Diamond Anniversary is celebrated by giving each other diamond jewellery as a symbol of strength of the bond between husband and wife.
World’s No. 1
It is the hardest substance in the world, and nothing in nature is harder than diamond. It is said that the name comes from the Greek word for unconquerable, as it was difficult to work with in ancient times when polishing techniques were limited. The word “diamond” also means “unyielding”, a reference to the stone’s resistance to all forms of damage due to its toughness.
In the past, when polishing was difficult, diamonds were not regarded as precious stones as they are today, but as talismans worn by men who were going into battle. Many people still wear them as a talisman to ward off bad luck.
Celebrate your Happiness by adding a Birthstone to your Outfit
Rubies, sapphires, and emeralds are the world’s three most precious gems, with diamonds being the world’s fourth most precious gem, all of which are famous for their value and fame in every way. The diamond’s clear brilliance and sparkle have made it a popular choice for many people, and it is also used in necklaces, earrings, and other accessories.
Traditionally, it is believed that by wearing the birthstone of the month in which you were born, it will bring you happiness and protect you. For this reason, many people choose to give their April birthstone as a gift in the form of an accessory, such as an easy-to-wear bracelet, while others embed their birthstone on the inside of a wedding ring or decorate the front of a woman’s ring with a diamond.
Combinations with power stones
Birthstones can be used in combination with power stones to combine the effects of the stones. For example, jade, which is often used to make jade beads, has the effect of encouraging rapid progress and prosperity. When combined with a diamond, the synergy of the two stones can create an overflowing sense of happiness. It can also be combined with crystal, which is also the birthstone of April, to enhance the effect, or with pearls to help you set your mind on something and not waver.
On the other hand, there are some gemstones that, when combined with diamonds, do not have the full effect that diamonds have. One such gemstone is Tektite, which is said to be beneficial for work and relationships. Tektite itself has a positive effect on the development of one’s inner abilities. However, it also has the potential to counteract the effects of diamonds, so be careful if you want to combine diamonds with power stones.
Understand the 4C’s and Determine their Value
As the birthstone of April, diamonds are not all of equal value, and the 4Cs form the basis for determining their value.
The first is carat weight. The carat is often mistaken for a unit of measurement, but in fact it is a unit of weight, with one carat weighing 0.2 grams. The higher the carat number, the greater the weight, and therefore the greater the value of the gem.
The next factor is colour. The nearer the diamond is to the rare, clear diamond, the more valuable it becomes, as compared to the more numerous yellowish ones. Clear, colourless diamonds, which are often used in engagement rings, are the most valuable. Other colours, such as pink, also exist, and stones with a distinct colour have established a separate popularity as fancy colours. The rarest colours are green, red, purple, and orange.
Clarity, or transparency, is another criterion for determining the value of a diamond. Clarity affects brilliance, so the higher the clarity, the higher the value.
Finally, there is cut. This is the art of polishing, and the quality of the cut is determined by the skill of the polisher. There are several ways to cut a diamond, including the round brilliant cut, which has been around for more than 100 years, and the briar cut, in which the diamond is cut into a square shape with rounded corners. There are several ways to cut a diamond.
There is also the Heart & Cupid cut, which has an unusual shade of light. It is difficult for the untrained eye to judge, but using special equipment, it is possible to see the shading of the heart shape when viewed from below, and the shading of the Cupid’s arrow when viewed from above.
