Greetings to all viewers of Venus Tears! I hope everyone had a great time shopping for fantastic deals during this year’s GSS (Great Singapore Sales)! Today, we will be introducing about the birthstones of July which is also one of the Four King Gemstone, Ruby!

Ruby, a gemstone usually pink to blood-red in colour, is a variety of the mineral corundum. The name derives from ‘Ruber’ which means ‘Red’ in Latin. Rubies are considered to be one of the hardest gemstones, with a MoHs Scale of 9.0 and the most famous colour for rubies is known as ‘Pigeon Blood’ which is very rare to find in the world.

Pink Diamonds are a rare phenomenon of earth’s creation. Colored diamonds are formed due to either interstitial impurities or structural defects. For Pink Diamonds to be formed, plastic deformation of the crystal lattice due to a certain temperature and pressure is required, and as such, in every 200,000 pieces of diamonds only 1 pink diamond can be found.

As such, Pink Diamonds are extremely sought after and demands a high price with it.

If you love the color pink, yet find a Pink Diamonds’ price out of your comfort zone, fret not! At Venus Tears, you may opt for Pink Sapphires!
