Opal is non crystalline minerals made by silicon dioxide combined with water.

White opal with play – of – colour against a white background colour , as well as black opal against a black background colour, called bodycolour. Fire opal is transparent with brown, orange or red body colour , which often does not show play – of – colour. Each stone has a different and unique rainbow colour.
