A comfort fit or comfort curve refers to the shape of the inner wall of the ring, or in other words, the part that makes contact with your finger as you slide it on. A standard-fit wedding ring has a straight inner wall. A comfortable-fit wedding ring has a convex inner wall.
A standard fit often has a hard edge that catches the skin as you slide it on and off or dig into your finger when you make a fist, especially with wider rings. The comfort fit makes the ring slide over your knuckle much more comfortably and once it’s one, it follows the contour of your hand much closer than a standard fit.
