When it comes to selecting the perfect diamond, the Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat are the factors to consider. These four characteristics determine not only the beauty of the diamond but also its value.

Diamonds are graded on a scale from Excellent to Poor based on their cut. An Excellent cut maximizes the diamond’s light performance, making it appear more brilliant. The cut is not about the shape of the diamond (like round, oval, or princess) but rather the quality of the angles, proportions, and facets.

The cut of a diamond is perhaps the most crucial of the 4Cs. It determines how well the diamond reflects light, which in turn affects its brilliance and sparkle. A well-cut diamond will dazzle with its ability to capture and reflect light that catches everyone’s eye.

Carat weight is a measure of how much a diamond weighs, with one carat equaling 200 milligrams. Most of the popular diamond carat size range from 0.30ct, 0.50ct,0.70ct,0.90ct & 1.00ct.

Clarity refers to the presence of internal or external imperfections, known as inclusions and blemishes. The fewer the imperfections, the higher the clarity grade and the more valuable the diamond. Clarity is graded on a scale from Flawless (no inclusions or blemishes visible under 10x magnification) to Included (inclusions and/or blemishes visible to the naked eye). While Flawless diamonds are rare and expensive, many inclusions are so tiny that they do not affect the diamond’s appearance to the naked eye.

Diamonds come in a range of colors, but the most valuable diamonds are those that are colorless. The color of a diamond is graded on a scale from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow or brown). It’s all about personal preference, but if you’re aiming for a classic look, opting for a diamond in the D-F / G-H range is good for set an engagement ring.
