“Katamu”(固む) ― A classical Japanese phrase meaning “to strengthen”

Its logo depicts a Carrick Bend, a tight and secure knot used to connect 2 different ropes or strings. Like how your strings of fate are interwoven with each other, Katamu wishes that your fate may forever be interwined and secure like this knot.

Katamu rings are made through forging methods, different from normal casting methods. This method creates tougher rings, much like your bonds of love.

All diamonds used in Katamu rings are perfect cuts, with 8 distinct Hearts and Arrows.

Round brilliants are very good at masking inclusions and color, which means you can go quite low in terms of clarity and color grades without sacrificing the appearence. Cut, on the other hand, which determines the fire and brilliance should always be of the highest possible grade (Excellent for GIA or Ideal for AGS).

Round Brilliant is the ultimate classic and the most popular of all diamond shapes. It is designed to produce maximum fire, brilliance, and scintillation (sparkle). It has evolved over several hundred years and is the most researched and scientifically analyzed cut in the industry. Simple, timeless, and beautiful.

The reason the round brilliant cut diamond is so popular is…

Most likely because the symmetrical shape lends itself to a facet structure which delivers the highest volume of light return and sparkle factor, at least when it is cut to the right proportions and the diamond cutter maintains an exceptional degree of precision when shaping and indexing the facets… or it might just be because the round brilliant cut diamond happens to be the most popular diamond shape of all time, and thus the diamond cutters just keep cranking them out and retail jewelry stores keep buying them, and shoving them in your face.

If you don’t think there is any validity to that suggestion, just try to find an exceptional Asscher cut diamond, the majority of diamond cutters who were producing them, changed their wheels over to produce cushion cut diamonds when they became more popular and hardly an Asscher is to be found.
