Ring Shape Introduction

Amour Amulet

There are so many bands shapes to choose from when shopping for a ring: Flat, Wavy, U-Shape, V-shape and more. I believe it’s not necessarily easy for everyone to choose what they like when all the rings are beautiful in their own ways. So, here’s a short guide to what might help you in this ring-purchasing journey.

First, it’s important to know that details of the ring could affect the overall silhouette but we will save this for later. Like clothing that can visually manipulate our outlook, shape of the band could make our fingers look longer/shorter, more masculine/feminine. Shape of the band will also be taken into consideration when it is planned to be stack with an diamond ring. It is important to note that there is no fixed silhouette where all — for example —U-shape ring looks the same.

1. Straight Band (Flat/Barrel)

Straight bands are more common and simple but it could be enhance with style lines on the ring. Flat straight band tends to emit a more masculine vibe compared to their barrel counterpart.

2. Wavy Band

Like it’s name shape like a wave, is often asymmetrical and looks more visually interesting. Rings like this might often be difficult to stack but collection like Disney, all rings are designed to stack together.

3. U-shape / V-shape Band

U-shape and V-shape looks similar but the latter looks sharper. Both shapes bands (pointed part often face the wearer), are frequently chosen when one need to stack with a lower setting engagement ring. Already interesting by itself, it is also used to visually elongate fingers.

4. Other Alternatives

Often times straight bands are more easily manipulated by adding style line on the ring to make the ring look rounder, curvier, or even layered.

Last but not least..

Nothing beats trying the rings on yourself. What you think might look like might not match your expectation. Do head down to any of the outlets and our staff are happy to serve you!
