What is “Forging”?

We believe most people doesn’t know what it is, hence, we are here to explain a little to you. The word “Forging” refers to a generic term which describes metal working process by forming metal workpieces with high heat and pressure.

Forging is the process of shaping different material such as gold and platinum by applying high amount of direct pressure, to stretch and bend them.

Some facts that you may or may not know,

1. Forging process can create things that are harder than most other metalwork process.

2. Airplanes, automobiles, ships, engines and even missiles are also created by forging method.

3. Forging method has a history of over 6000 years and goes all the way back to as early as 4000 BC or earlier.

Forging, in Japan, is a very traditional technique handed down since ancient times. Stuff like Japanese swords, knives, certain cutleries, etc., are also made with forging method.

Since there are lesser craftsmen taking over forging techniques, things that are made using this specific method are becoming rare and aren’t commonly seen in accessories stores.

Smooth finish

Forging increases the density of the metal, resulting in a smoother finish with a heavier overall feel. The hardness of the surface is also higher, resulting in a stronger shine when polished. Also, when the surface is processed, the craftsman will carefully beat it with a hammer to create different designs and outlooks. The end result is what makes the craftsmen proud, the owner of the rings happy and in love.

Some deemed the rings they’ve seen is simple looking, while others deemed the forging process to be simple. But none has ever thought of the fact that making with this method requires a high amount of patience as knocking, hammering, or even pulling requires a high amount of skills and some amount of timeframe. Let alone to talk about making of rings which is only a very small piece. You’ll need great eyesight and a pair of very sturdy hands as well. Every little mistake can cause the rings to be ruined and they’ll have to remake the rings.

Welcome to VENUS TEARS. At VENUS TEARS, All the rings are made to order from Japan, which means your rings are only made when you place an order with us. Of course, you can customize the engraving of the inner part of the rings as well! For the engraving is free to charge!

The ring is meaningless, but when you made to order the rings, you give the rings a meaning. From material to loose diamond, from inner stones to engraving, all follow you’re customizing to complete your unique rings. You can even choose the engraving fonts of your likings such as cursive, normal, or block fonts. Depending on the collection as you choose one, you may choose your engraving in a variety of font.

The engraving can be a person’s name, words, the date or can also be a symbol or pattern. Also, You can enjoy a lifetime warranty with Japan standard of after service. Complex lettering (various languages or patterns, etc.) needs to be evaluated.

* Note: The number of characters to be engraved may be limited depending on the type & thickness of the desired rings as well as the wearer’s finger size.
